Cinco De Mayo

Every year, La Siesta becomes "The Place" to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, America's fastest growing holiday!

On May 5th, our restaurant is transformed into one of the liveliest fiestas north of the border! People come from miles around for a true taste of Mexican food and entertainment. Inside . . . outside . . . it's a P-A-R-T-Y! Live bands, remote radio broadcasts, clowns, lively costumed dancers and more will make you want to stay until we lock the doors!

Stay tuned for media releases on this year's event — call us for details. You don't want to miss this!

What is Cinco de Mayo?

Cinco De Mayo should not—as it often is—be confused with the Mexican Independence Day celebration, which actually falls in September.

Cinco De Mayo literally means the "5th of May." On May 5, 1862,  a ragtag army of Mexicans under General Zaragoza defeated a well-equipped army of invading French forces at the Battle of Puebla.

For us here at La Siesta,
Cinco de Mayo has become our way of celebrating our appreciation for your patronage for over 27 years!!

Please enjoy your visit and come back soon!

Dazzle your friends with Cinco De Mayo facts!!!!!!

  • Facing financial chaos caused by five years of civil war, Mexican president Benito Jaurez suspended payments to foreign creditors in 1861. France, Spain, and Great Britain intervened, however, and landed troops at Veracruz.

  • Napoleon III decided to march on Mexico City for repayment. Mexico won the Battle of Puebla, but France occupied Mexico City until 1867.

Let La Siesta cater your next festive occasion at our place . . . or yours!!!
